How Seqlytics protects your genomic data and personal information

1. Introduction

Seqlytics (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the website www.seqlytics.com and the Seqlytics Engine (the “Service”), the core genomic processing platform powering the Algogenics AI-driven drug discovery pipeline.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our website or use our Service, particularly when you upload or process genomic data (FASTQ, VCF, or other sequencing files).

We are committed to the highest standards of data protection, especially for sensitive genomic and multi-omic information used in clinical-grade and research workflows.

2. Information We Collect

Genomic and Multi-Omic Data

When you use the Service, you may upload raw sequencing files (FASTQ, VCF, BAM, etc.) or other multi-omic datasets. These files are processed through our ultra-low latency alignment, quality control, and pathogenicity scoring pipeline.

Account and Contact Information

If you create an account or contact us, we collect your name, email address, organization, and any other information you voluntarily provide.

Usage and Technical Data

We automatically collect usage data, IP address, browser type, device information, and interaction logs to improve performance and security.

Cookies and Tracking

We use essential cookies to operate the Service. Analytics cookies may be used (with your consent where required) to understand traffic and improve user experience.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To run the Seqlytics Engine: alignment, QC, scoring, and multi-omic integration in <60 seconds on average.
  • To deliver structured intelligence to downstream AI agents in the Algogenics platform.
  • To communicate with you about your account, updates, or support requests.
  • To improve our algorithms, validate against ClinVar/gnomAD benchmarks, and maintain clinical-grade precision (94%+ pathogenicity scoring accuracy).
  • For legal compliance, fraud prevention, and service security.

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your genomic data or personal information to third parties.

We may share data only in the following limited circumstances:

  • With trusted service providers (e.g., secure cloud infrastructure partners) who are contractually bound to protect your data at the same standard we do.
  • When required by law, court order, or government request.
  • In the event of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale (with appropriate safeguards).

5. Data Security and Compliance

Genomic data is among the most sensitive categories of personal information. We implement industry-leading technical and organizational measures, including:

  • End-to-end encryption in transit and at rest.
  • Secure, isolated processing environments.
  • Regular security audits and penetration testing.
  • Compliance with applicable laws, including HIPAA (where our services are used for protected health information), GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and other data protection regulations.

By default, processed genomic files are deleted after results are delivered unless you explicitly choose to store them in your secure account.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal account information as long as your account is active. Genomic input files are retained only for the duration necessary to deliver results and for a short audit window (typically 30 days), after which they are automatically and securely deleted unless you opt for longer storage.

7. Your Rights and Choices

You have the right to:

  • Access, correct, or delete your personal information.
  • Request deletion of your genomic data (subject to any legal retention obligations).
  • Opt out of non-essential cookies and analytics.
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing activities.

To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@seqlytics.com. We will respond within 30 days (or sooner where required by law).

8. International Data Transfers

Our primary infrastructure is located in the United States. When we transfer data outside your jurisdiction, we use appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent mechanisms.

9. Children’s Privacy

Our Service is not intended for individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the “Last Updated” date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
